How teachers in training need to have more training on how to plan and incorporate the use of technology into the curriculum more effectively.  It is not a matter of just uploading docs to the LMS or using power point in the classroom, but how well the tech tools that are available support student learning.

Communication with parents

Remind 101 is an app that allows teachers to systematically and personalize their communication with ELL parents. Teachers are able to enroll their parents into the system by simply adding their numbers into the program. Teachers can send messages with videos or pictures to their whole class or individualize their message for a specific parent. Parents receive their message via text message for free and are able to reply directly to teachers. Remind 101 has added a feature where messages can be translated into 70 different languages. Teachers can access the app on their cellphones as well as on their iPads. Another great feature is that Remind 101 keeps track of parent communication for teachers and they can download or print out their parent communication logs for documentation purposes.
